Aqua Oceanfront Hotel Resort

The location offers wonderful sightseeing, pleasant nature, and an excellent private beach; the facilities are very good. On the first day at the Bar Restaurant, a very friendly young man served us well with food and drinks. The next day, a couple of young women refused to give us coffee for breakfast, claiming they didn’t have any. About half an hour after breakfast we finally received coffee—apparently they were waiting for it, which is normal—but the way they communicated and the inadequate customer service were not normal.

“Regresaré cuando mejoren!!”

The view of the bay is great and the beach is beautiful, but it’s very noisy because people work from very early in the morning. The restaurant lacks variety and the food doesn’t taste good.

“Paradise beach, amazing location but very poor service”

The beach is amazing, the location is wonderful, and the room is cozy and beautifully decorated. The service was really bad, which is disappointing because it’s not a cheap hotel. They advertise kayaks and surf lessons, yet we saw no beach service—no waiters, no kayaks, no stand‑up boards—for three days, only a few beach chairs without cushions. Our room was not cleaned at all; no fresh towels or bed making. I’m not sure if they were short of staff on January 1, but any such issues should be communicated to guests, or they should make it clear that room cleaning isn’t offered. We would have accepted it if the room price had been lower. The staff also couldn’t inform us about breakfast, so we waited two hours at the restaurant for scrambled eggs that never arrived. If it were a guest house, I might understand, but it’s not a hotel that charges over $300 a night.

“Wir zahlen gern den teuren Preis, wenn man uns entsprechend "bedient".”

We felt the current management sometimes gets overwhelmed, probably because they’re not set up for long‑term guests like us staying 11 nights at a steep price. The location is undeniably attractive and overall we felt comfortable. Some staff members were very competent. We just had to figure out where dinner isn’t as pricey as the on‑site restaurant. Many guests appear to stay only 1‑2 days, bring their own food and water, which we didn’t know about. We had to negotiate for the included breakfast. Next to our cabana there was a construction site with noisy chainsaws and other heavy machinery that irritated us.
