Location was good. Not comfortable stay. They had fixed timing for AC. The room was on terrace and it was hot. They didn't had a proper ceiling fan. They were using wall mounted fan. Service was very basic

It was one of the most comfortable stays I’ve ever had, especially as a solo traveler; from the moment I entered, the hostel’s aesthetic vibe pulled me in, and the common area became a place to unwind, laugh, and chat after a long day; I booked the women‑only room on the second floor, which was calm, peaceful, and offered a great terrace view, while the mixed dorm was also great for meeting other solo travelers; Raja Bhai and his assistants were incredibly welcoming and helpful whenever needed; the location is essentially at the city’s heart, with major attractions within half an hour and easy access by metro and bus; whether you’re solo or with friends, it’s a must‑stay, and I wish I could have extended my visit but had to leave due to duty; I’ll definitely come back; the only downside for mixed dorm guests is the restroom congestion at peak times, so coordinating with roommates is advisable.

I had to get inside to enjoy anything, but that never happened; I arrived at 4 am, and on the phone I was told my room and bed had already been sold to someone else, and the same person who called me that afternoon to confirm my arrival informed me of the same thing; I was a stranger in a new city, exhausted after a 14‑hour train, a metro, and a walk, only to find my bed taken by a random passerby.

What Was Good: The dormitory and bathroom were reasonably clean. I appreciate the cleanliness, but it does not compensate for the other problems I experienced. My experience at Suitcase Stories was very disappointing, and I would not recommend this hostel to anyone who values comfort, respectful treatment and a pleasant stay. 1. Booking Confusion Upon Arrival: Before arriving, I clearly requested a lower bunk bed. However, when I reached the hostel, the staff initially told me that there was no booking under my name. I had to show them my reservation and proof of the ₹1,000 advance payment I had made through PhonePe. Only after seeing both proofs did they acknowledge my booking. This was a very stressful and unprofessional way to welcome a guest who had already booked and paid in advance. 2. Uncomfortable Upper Bunk and Poor Bed Condition: Despite specifically requesting a lower bunk in advance, I was assigned the uppermost bunk. Climbing up and down the ladder was inconvenient and uncomfortable. The upper bunks were also in poor condition, and the walls around the upper sleeping area were not well maintained. Some staff members were sleeping on lower bunks, but even after repeatedly requesting a lower bed, my request was not accommodated. This made the stay much more uncomfortable. 3. Poor Ventilation, Excessive Heat and Mosquitoes: The AC operated only from 8 PM to 8 AM. During the daytime, there was only a wall fan, which provided insufficient airflow. Since I was on the uppermost bunk and the fan was positioned below my bed, I barely felt any air. The upper bunk became extremely hot, and there were many mosquitoes around it, making the stay very uncomfortable. Proper ventilation and adequate mosquito control are basic requirements for a comfortable dormitory. 4. Extremely Small Bathroom Washbasin: Although the bathroom was reasonably clean, the washbasin was unbelievably small. It was difficult to use it properly even for something as basic as brushing my teeth. A hostel should provide basic bathroom facilities that guests can comfortably use. 5

It was a decent stay overall, with friendly staff, a clean washroom, and available kitchen facilities; however, the room felt cramped, the Wi‑Fi was slow, and after four days I discovered my new boat earbuds were missing—my luggage had been moved to someone else’s space without any notice, which was unacceptable.
