Higher Trenear Farm Yurts

We stayed at High Trener Farm for three nights and it was fantastic. The yurt was a real highlight; it looked compact from the outside but inside it was surprisingly spacious and comfortable for our family of five. The composting bucket toilet required a bit of mental adjustment at first, but it was clean and well maintained, as were the kitchen and shared shower area – all perfectly adequate. The goats were lovely neighbors, and waking up surrounded by cornfields made the whole experience wonderfully peaceful and close to nature. The farm’s location is convenient for nearby attractions. Kate and Terry were fantastic hosts, and we’d love to come back. The only minor disappointment was that only the initial supply of firelogs and firelighters was provided; a reasonable supply would have been nice since heating is essential in a yurt. The entrance road is very bushy and could use a bit of widening for drivers, but that won’t stop us from visiting again. Overall, a memorable and enjoyable stay – highly recommended!

Trenear farm yurts were the cutest; from the moment we arrived we were shown around and made to feel welcomed and relaxed. It was the perfect location for an off‑grid weekend to reset. The yurt and farm were very private and you felt safe and secure. The owners answered any questions quickly and were lovely and approachable. My youngest son loved the goats, chickens and pigs and could visit them whenever he wanted. The farm is clean and well kept along with all of the facilities. Compost toilets were a new experience for us 😂, but they worked well and just added to the outdoorsy weekend we were after. I will definitely be returning and would recommend it to anyone looking for an off‑grid chilled weekend.

“Beautiful Slow mornings and late nights by the fire”

We loved that every Yurt had its own surrounding land! We would normally love neighbors, but with a toddler it meant he wasn’t wandering off to other people’s yurts and instead had a whole field and tire swing to play on. There were also lovely farm animals dotted around nearby to keep the baby occupied. The yurts were beautifully kept, as were the rest of the facilities and land! There was nothing we did not like.
