“Good, party hotel”
The location is great, and the female check‑in staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The night‑time staff insisted on cash “tourist taxes” that are required when visitors return—funny that it has to be cash 🤔

I was shocked by how badly the security staff at Marco Polo I treated us. At about 3 am, an older guard decided to evict two young guests from the hotel, giving us only about 30 minutes to pack up and leave. He claimed he’d seen a nitrous canister through our ground‑floor window in the dark. I wasn’t partying, I wasn’t causing trouble, and I wasn’t even with my friend—he was at a club. I had just come out of the shower, was getting ready for bed, and suddenly I was told aggressively to pack my belongings and leave, with no warning, no reasonable conversation, and no concern about where we were supposed to go at 3 am. The irony was that parties were happening all over the hotel and you could hear nitrous being used elsewhere as you walked past rooms, yet spotting one canister through our window was enough for him to act as if he’d uncovered an international crime ring. His attitude was appalling—aggressive, smug, and completely lacking basic hospitality or common sense. He seemed more interested in exercising his tiny bit of authority than dealing with the situation like a normal human being. Luckily, a friend of mine works in security high up on the island and is extremely well connected, so we weren’t left completely stranded. Not every tourist has that luxury. Someone else could have been left wandering at 3 am with their luggage and nowhere safe to stay. He won’t be there for long; you can’t miss him—he looks a bit like a Terminator, the temu version with no friends over his job more than his mum. Perhaps he should spend less time peering through guests’ windows looking for reasons to throw people out and more time learning how to speak to paying guests with some basic respect.

Location. Room was right on reception which was very loud with guests entering the property 24/7. Woken up by noise every night between 12-6am continuous loud noises

The location was good, but when we arrived the room was dirty; they never left it clean, didn’t bother to clean the terrace, the bathroom glasses were dirty, the pillows smelled of sweat, the breakfast buffet wasn’t bad, the beds were uncomfortable, so we won’t return.
