“Village pub with lots of history..clean rooms+ ££ budget cost.”
The location is perfect for events at “tanks a lot”, easy to find and not too far from Brackley. The staff were friendly and the locals in the bar were welcoming.
“A great reasonably priced venue if your attending We Have Ways Fest”
Closeness to the venue we were attending. Bar closed early on Saturday
“Clean, warm, affordable, great welcoming staff.....but a tad rough at the edges”
It's all a bit odd really but a good odd. My friend and I were visiting an event at Silverstone. The event didn't finish until after 11pm and we didn't fancy driving back to Leeds at that time, especially after drinking all day. I went to book a local hotel but they were very expensive, then I found the Sun Inn. I booked but then realised check in was 3pm, so I rang up to find out if we could check in earlier and get back into the hotel after 11.30pm. I spoke to Harry and he told me that all was fine, just ring him the day before. The day before the event I rang the hotel, but there was no answer. I rang again over 10 times.but no answer. I thought I had been conned. On the day, we drove down expecting to find the Sun Inn boarded up and with no plan B. However, the place was very easy to find, just a few seconds off the A43 and certainly not boarded up. On arrival there was a sign on the door which had a different mobile number to ring. I rang this and the lovely Orla answered and then came to the door. All was well, our room was ready and Orla was very helpful. Plus lot's of safe parking directly outside, which was also important to us. It's actually a beautiful old 17th Century pub but the pub bit is not in use. The room was warm, clean and cosy with two single beds, tea and and coffee making facilities and our own shower room. Don't get me wrong, a tad rough around the edges but clean, warm and cosy. We dropped our bags then grabbed a taxi to Silverstone raceway. At the end of the day it was a short taxi ride back but I couldn't get the door code working, so I rang the number again and Orla came down and let us in without issue, so a comfy nights sleep was had. Simple stuff with no frills, no breakfasts etc, but it was all that we needed really to be fair, at the end of a long day and evening out and especially at the bargain price compared to other local hotels. A little goldmine that close to Silverstone I reckon. Nothing. It was really great for the money, so no complaints and Orla was very helpful and lovely
“inconvenient with no evening food being served.”
They advertise dinner service, but since the new management took over there's no food at night, which was disappointing because I was traveling for work.
The staff were friendly, but the exterior of the building looked very neglected.
