“Great stay at Crowne Plaza Solihull”

The staff were accommodating and everything else was great, especially the breakfast with plenty of options, though I couldn’t get the heating to turn on.

“Brilliant hotel and location. But could do better on the breakfast especially for what you charge.”

The overall ambience of the hotel was lovely and the staff were brilliant, with a location that was just right; however the breakfast left a lot to be desired—utensils were so hot I couldn’t pick them up and the food was lukewarm, often cold by the time I reached my table.

“location good, needs updating”

The location was great, opposite the shopping centre and the hotel was clean, but check‑in was rough when the lady had a nasal noise issue; the room was cold, the bed was cold, the sealant around the shower needed attention and there was black mould; both evening meals were problematic, the first waited ages for puddings and the second chicken wasn’t cooked through.

“great value smart looking hotel with a well connected location.”

Parking was plentiful and easy to log on tablets at reception; staff were friendly everywhere and the bar area felt relaxing; the hotel room had plenty of space, the standard was good, and I liked how bottled water was supplied in reusable glass bottles already chilled in the mini‑fridge. The passenger lifts felt out of date and poor quality compared to the rest of the hotel, with slow‑responding control buttons that made it seem like the lift could get stuck; the swimming pool complex needed minor refurbishment to match the hotel’s standards, wooden door frames had rotted at the base, the poolside shower only offered cold water, and the pool temperature felt quite chilly.

I’ve stayed here before and the staff and rooms are very good, but this time my room was opposite the lift, which was in action until 1.15am and then started again around 4.15am, ruining a good night’s sleep; I was only staying for one night but will definitely request a room away from the lift next time.
