“Check in too much of a hassle”

The room was clean and the place is great, but the check‑in process involved too many steps and the communication was spotty; it was hard to reach anyone, especially without a reception, and the back‑and‑forth on WhatsApp was frustrating. One staff member was checking out when I arrived and mentioned similar check‑in problems. If check‑in isn’t sorted, you can’t enter, and you can’t leave luggage unless you bump into a cleaner or someone checking out. Even pre‑arranged luggage drops didn’t help, and the entrance was hard to find. It’s not ideal for older travelers or those who dislike fussing over details; you’ll spend a lot of time figuring out check‑in and luggage handling rather than enjoying Malacca. They eventually helped me get the codes, but it was still a major hassle. Overall, a poor experience.

“Great location, affordable but noisy”

The place is in a great spot, inexpensive, the internet works well, the air‑con cools the room fast, the staff are friendly and attentive, and they even let me check in early when I asked. The toilet seat in the shared bathroom has black mold and needs to be replaced. If you’re sensitive to noise, you’ll hear the mosque’s call to prayer very loudly, and rain makes a huge racket because of the tin roof.

It’s just a walking distance from Jonker Street, which is great for anyone who wants to explore. The check‑in/out process was fast and hassle‑free, thanks to the lady boss running the guest house, who was friendly and responded quickly. The room met the basic requirements, was clean, the bed was comfortable, the air‑con was cool, and only the TV had a problem that prevented watching, which didn’t bother us because we just needed a nice, comfortable place to rest for the night. Overall good 👍
