Orchid Lodge-The Good Life in France

The reception was very warm, the place beautiful and surrounded by nature, calm and relaxing, perfect for a first breakfast and even a garden vegetable stir‑fry; we’re thrilled to be back for a second stay with Steve and Jane.

“Beau lodge, isolé et en pleine nature”

The lodge sits on a large, magnificent plot in full nature; it’s comfortable and well‑equipped but lacks water (jerricans are supplied); the bathrooms and kitchen are independent of the lodges and shared with occupants of the second lodge on the same property but at a good distance. The hosts are charming and welcoming, providing everything needed for at least the first breakfast and some good garden produce. Dining at the hosts’ table is recommended—the meal was delicious! The bathroom could be better equipped, and the site could be indicated from the Chapelle Thémer and Thiré.

“Sans commentaires”

Booking sent us the reservation confirmation, we drove 130 km to reach the poorly marked location, and arrived at 20:50. No one came to greet us, and at 22:00 we received an email saying our request (made at 18:55) was denied. We had to find a hotel, and the only one we found was 100 km away—no reviews! The fact that we tried to contact the establishment five times between booking (with payment) and arrival, left two messages, and never received a callback.
