Free access to the boats on the lake, a great location, and dinner at the restaurant were highlights; we did not see a bear, though.

The location is very quiet and lovely, right on the lake, and the restaurant is excellent with friendly staff, but the kitchen is not well equipped; we only had sheets as a blanket, and in September it was definitely too cold, so we froze.

The setting is calm right by the lake, yet the approach to the hotel is a 20 km gravel track—a real ordeal for a 5‑star property, full of potholes, sandy road, narrow steep turns that stretch the drive, and it’s not recommended at night.
