“My go-to hotel in Istanbul”

The spot sits on a hill with a lovely view over the Golden Horn, especially from the roof terrace/bar, and the nearby restaurant Ficcin is charming. Walking to Galata Bridge, Ayasofya and Sultanahmet takes about 30‑45 minutes, or you can take a cheap taxi. My room was comfortable, the bed was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The décor feels a bit worn but the place stays clean, and the hot shower is a big plus for me. I've stayed here many times over the years whenever I'm in Istanbul and plan to keep coming back. The only downside was that the fan base was broken, so I had to prop it up to point it correctly.

If you appreciate the charm of old buildings, this hotel is great, with super friendly and very helpful staff and a prime location for exploring the city and dining or going out nearby at night. The breakfast, however, is quite simple.

The ambience is beautiful and the staff are courteous, and the roof terrace is fantastic. The property is in dire need of renovation, the breakfast room looks unlovely and untidy, and the breakfast quality is only moderate.
