A beautiful old house with peaceful surroundings. Masseria Santo Stefano offers breakfast in the form of store‑bought items, like toast and cookies. There’s no daily housekeeping. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances, but it’s too small for the number of guests – it’s best to coordinate with others on kitchen usage and hygiene. Guests wash dishes by hand and take garbage bags from the bathroom and kitchen to the bins outside. For items that should be available (suitable dishes, pool towels, etc.) we had to ask separately and wait until the next day. Bed linen was changed after 5 days. When we asked for clean towels in the meantime, we were told they’re changed the same way as bed linen, i.e. every 5 days. The house itself is old and beautiful with nice surroundings, but it requires a lot more effort and maintenance than it’s given: the sunbeds are outdated, dirty, and non‑adjustable; there’s only one sunshade with no holes – the garden furniture from the photos does not match reality. Because two parties were organized during our stay, we couldn’t use the pool for two days and had to park the car outside the property. It’s clear that the main activity of Masseria Santo Stefano is renting space for parties, and the so‑called B&B is just a side business. The internet is poor and there’s no Wi‑Fi at the pool. Heating worked 4 of the 9 days of our stay. The fault was reported to the housekeeper, acknowledged, but it wasn’t fixed until the last day. The overall presentation of Masseria Santo Stefano does not reflect the real state of accommodation, content and service in many ways.
