“Impecable.”

The staff were very friendly and hardworking. The location and parking were great. Each bed had two pillows. The breakfast was dry. All was very good.

“Warm welkom in Hotel Gernika”

At the entrance a small artwork reads “Homenaje al peregrino” – a tribute to the pilgrim – and that sense of welcome hit me right away: I arrived an hour early, but my room was already ready. A nice extra service. The lady at reception was friendly and helpful; she pointed out the main sights on a map and ensured a warm welcome. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable, with a good bed and a pleasant bathroom. The hotel is within walking distance of the city center’s attractions, so everything is easily reachable. I enjoyed a pleasant and relaxing stay, with a welcome that fits the spirit of the Camino exactly.

The staff’s reception was uneven; I had booked eight rooms and received very poor service. It seemed the key to my room was missing and the employee made it look like we still had it. I was relieved to finally get a room at Hotel Gernika, but the service was very bad. There were also two or three older women who were completely rude and gave no service.

“Really enjoyed our stay”

The hotel was clean and cozy, and breakfast was great—eggs cooked exactly how we wanted. The staff were fantastic and made us feel right at home even after arriving drenched from the Camino. The only downside was that there was no dining option in the evening.

We stayed in a quiet, comfortable room with air conditioning and a good bathroom, and the buffet breakfast was solid. However, the granola was too sweet, the full‑fat yoghurt was too thick, and there were no fried or scrambled eggs available.
