The place had a fantastic location, view, and the hosts were amazing; the room faced Lion Rock and had a lovely garden outside for relaxing at any time of day, and the hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome.

Our best hotel in Sri Lanka, set peacefully in front of a lake with a view of the lion rock. The rooms were gorgeous, each offering sights of the rock and the surrounding greenery. Chami and his family treated us like royalty, and the on‑site food was outstanding—especially the Kottu, which was the best we’ve ever had. A nice extra was the deep‑jungle festival evening with Chami, which only happens twice a year. We’d recommend it without hesitation, thank you Chami! Nothing was missing; everything was perfect.

I’m honestly at a loss for words about this place; Chami and his family are the perfect hosts—kind, welcoming, and accommodating—going out of their way to make us feel at home, offering whatever we asked for and more, with Chami’s mother even offering a free cooking class that we couldn’t take due to time limits but sounded great; they were all sweet, the breakfast was amazing, and the room we stayed in was by far the most beautiful we booked in Sri Lanka, with a breathtaking view overlooking the lake and Lion Rock in the distance; one morning we woke up early and were lucky to see a wild elephant grazing near the lake, an unforgettable moment; the house is surrounded by a serene, beautifully cared-for garden full of plants that Chami and his mother planted and tended themselves, and in the mornings the garden comes alive with birds of all kinds, including tiny hummingbirds that fill the air with song; if I could give this place 6/5, I absolutely would—an incredibly beautiful stay made even more special by the warmth and generosity of Chami and his family, and it’s one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Sri Lanka ❤️.
