The host was warm and helped me find a great local garage when my car broke down; the place itself was lovely, the breakfast was nice, and Whitby was easy to reach by car, bus, or train, with a pleasant riverside walk for those who enjoy walking.

The breakfast was a typical English spread, rich and even offered a gluten‑free option (bread and cereals); the room window offered a nice view, the room was spacious with a comfortable wardrobe and dresser, but the bed and breakfast needed a general upgrade, the cleanliness was just adequate, and the bed, though wide by English standards, was uncomfortable.
