The extra‑paid private outdoor onsen was pleasant, and the meals at breakfast and dinner were solid, though the overall facilities could use a small upgrade.

The room and onsen were spacious and spotless, and the location made passing through Hakone effortless; we especially enjoyed unwinding in the lounge after dinner and would return.

Being close to a cemetery was convenient, but that might matter for some guests; also, there is no laundry shop anywhere in the whole neighborhood.

The in‑house onsen was deeply relaxing, the rooms were stunning, and the Kaiseki dinner was simply amazing; the whole ryokan exuded peace, and sleeping on classic Japanese futons was unforgettable. The initial hill climb with our luggage was a bit tiring, but the breathtaking valley view from our room more than compensated.
