JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Shanghai Pudong

“Excelent place to base your business trip in Shangai”

The staff were excellent and very attentive, and the room was spacious and comfortable, even featuring a bathtub in a movable wall inside the room. I was unhappy with the AC control because it didn’t let me adjust it finely, and even though I asked for a higher floor, they assigned me to a “high enough” spot, basically in the middle of the hotel.

The staff are super helpful, warm, and responsive, making this one of the best hotels and experiences I've had.

“A nice property undermined by a serious front-desk payment handling failure.”

The property itself is nice, and the room and overall facilities matched what one expects from a JW Marriott. I booked this room for my parents and reached out to the hotel ahead of time to arrange that my credit card be charged for the room while my parents would only handle the security deposit at check‑in. I spent about US$50 on an international phone call to clarify this, yet the front desk still failed to process my card and charged my parents for the room instead. That was exactly what I had tried hard to avoid, and the lack of coordination was extremely disappointing for a JW Marriott.

“Insane location and hotel”

The lobby was amazing and the location is great, but the staff vibe left something to be desired.

The luxury was outstanding, and there was nothing negative to mention.
