The arrival itself felt like a wow moment, the building and its topiary grounds were gorgeous, and our room with its small balcony over the gardens was a calm retreat even while a wedding was happening. The bed was supremely comfy, the decor tidy, and the staff were welcoming, professional, and made us feel valued. They escorted us to the room, explained all the facilities, and the restaurant and bar teams worked seamlessly to deliver great service. The food was excellent with generous portions. I’d definitely return and recommend it to anyone wanting a touch of luxury for a special occasion.

A beautiful period property with an excellent bedroom and bathroom, old‑world charm in the bar and lounge, and gorgeous gardens with plenty of spots to relax.

The grounds and main building were lovely, but the room we stayed in was in a separate building and we weren’t told that we’d have to walk to the main hotel for meals. We had to bring an umbrella or rain coat. The room was slated for an upgrade, so a few things needed fixing: the chain on the outside door, the roller blind, and the extraction fan.

Breakfast, location and the second bed. 1 limited vegetarian choice. 2 tasteless sauce with halibut. 3 tv not working properly. 4 dreadful mattress, couldn't belive this had not been spotted before by staff, hopefully now changed for next customer, after complaining we were given another room
