The location was gorgeous and the facilities beautiful, but the walking trails could have been better marked.

“Pleasant pub but check your bill.”

The room was very comfortable and quiet, and mostly clean, though the bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied. The evening meal was great, and breakfast was fine except for the odd scrambled eggs. The staff were lovely but a bit distracted, so service lagged. When we paid the bill, we discovered someone else’s tariff had been added to ours; it was removed then, but the next day it still appeared on our bank statement after we’d left. After calling the Derby Arms, the money was refunded, but that shouldn’t have happened.

“Ok …could be better”

Derby Arms sits in a convenient spot near Longridge and the countryside. The room was spotless, but the one I got was noisy—continuous background music even when the pub was empty and loud chatter from the bar below. It was also chilly; I asked for heating or a small mobile heater, was told the heating would be switched on but it never was, and the manager seemed uninterested.
