We had an absolutely beautiful stay at this lodge last weekend and have nothing negative to mention. The lodge itself is stunning and offers every comfort you could need, from cooking facilities to cleaning supplies and all the little essentials that make you feel at home. There’s a lovely outdoor dining area with a pizza oven right next to the lodge, complete with utensils and equipment for preparing and enjoying meals outside, which is a real bonus when the weather is nice. The privacy we experienced was exceptional; the lodge feels completely secluded, with a beautiful pond right in front, and even the jacuzzi is positioned so you can relax without being seen. The whole area is incredibly peaceful and quiet, perfect for disconnecting from everything. The owners were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful, genuinely happy to assist whenever needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return. It’s a beautiful, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed place that I definitely recommend.
“Plenty of grins at Grindale”
We really liked the location and the quietness. The moorhens on the pond were friendly and the hot tub was welcoming after a long day of walking. Lots of utensils were provided, along with milk, orange juice, and biscuits on arrival. We will definitely return.
The place is very secluded and welcoming, never disturbed by anyone; everything is clean and fully equipped. The location is great, I’d recommend it 100 %. The only drawback was that the shower/toilet was a bit farther from the accommodation.
Just WOW! This little lodge is amazing, very peaceful and stunning. I spent two nights here with my girlfriend and our two dogs for my annual birthday getaway; I had planned to go camping, but found this place while browsing and couldn’t resist, and I have no regrets. Every detail shows care and thought. It’s extremely clean (I say this as a head housekeeper at a hotel) with no faults found. The bed is comfy and gave us the best night’s sleep. The lodge includes a mini fridge, toaster, kettle, pots, pans, cutlery, cleaning products, and everything you could possibly need. Orange juice, milk, biscuits, and other snacks were waiting for us on arrival. The shower/toilet block is only a 45‑second walk from the lodge (I timed it, lol) and offers shampoo, shower gel, and female sanitary products. The lodge is fenced off, so it was safe to let our dogs sniff around without worry. The only place they could get out was the gate, which has larger gaps; my dachshund decided that going to the toilet was a group activity, so we moved a wooden plank in front of it from the nearby pile to stop the little man from going for a stroll—maybe adding wires to the bottom of the gate would help. We loved spending time outdoors, just sitting and watching the moorhens, which are very tame and super cute. The outdoor cooking/dining area is fantastic; the pizza oven is fun to use (there’s a cookbook inside that explains how to build the fire, plus handwritten/drawn instructions next to the oven). There’s also a hot plate outside for quick meals. The hot tub is the cherry on top. We all had an amazing, relaxing time here and can’t wait to visit again. The only downside was when it was time to leave.
