“eigentlich schade”

The location right by the forest and the parking behind the building were great, and evening drinks included wine. However, the room was not cleaned or organized, even though it’s a 3‑star hotel and I had hung the green door sign. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty, the extra shelf for personal shower gel was broken (the anchors were loose), and there was no toothbrush cup—I had to grab a glass at breakfast. Dinner was already being cleared at 19:57, even though the official dinner time was until 20:00. Raising these issues was impossible because the reception was closed on Saturday and Sunday, and the only restaurant staff available was the chef, who spoke no German.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was nice. The hotel is well‑equipped for families with children, has a pleasant décor and a varied breakfast. Parking is available, and the surroundings are great with a playground right by the hotel. However, the reception was empty, the front door jammed, the soap dish in the shower was only half‑fixed, and there were still some lint or crumbs on the carpet.

What really stands out is how the staff were ready to serve runners of the Supermarathon Rennsteiglauf at 2.00 am with a fantastic breakfast. Absolutely wild!

The hotel was basically closed, the wellness area was shut, and the restaurant was not open.

“Liebevoll geführtes Familien-Hotel mit einem Spielzimmer aus dem die Kinder nicht mehr weg wollten.”

The family room was superbly equipped and cosy, giving us five people plenty of space. The bathroom was huge, and even the kids had their own sink.
