On The Wallaby Eco Lodge

The lodge looked lovely – all wood and stone, with incense drifting through the air. It sits right in the heart of Yungaburra, a beautiful village on the tablelands where you can actually spot tree kangaroos and platypus in the wild!

“It was very good for what we needed in the perfect location,”

The location was spot on and the hostel met all our basic needs. The only downside was that the family room door couldn’t be locked when we weren’t inside.

“Beautiful cosy hippy haven”

This hostel is a gorgeous, cosy spot. The interior décor is stunning dark wood, the kitchen is huge and welcoming, and there are plenty of snug corners for a book. The toilets are easy to find, clean, and have good showers. The staff are lovely and fun, the bed was comfy, and the garden is beautiful with hammocks, sofas, and a DVD projector. There’s even a bar open until 8 pm. It’s right in the middle of the village, a 2‑second walk from the pub with stunning mountain views. I’d recommend it to solo and group travellers; I wish I could have stayed longer. The only issue was that the bedroom walls were a bit thin, so you could hear people talking outside and next door all night.

“Highly recommend staying here”

We absolutely loved our stay at On the Wallaby Ecolodge! The property is beautiful, surrounded by lush gardens with spectacular common areas, and everything was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. A special shout‑out to Jana and Kayla, who were amazing hosts and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend staying here – we’d happily come back! Nothing to add.

“Clean, great location and quiet.”

Everything was incredibly clean and it was very quiet at night. I wish I’d stayed longer because the garden area looked great but I didn’t have time to use it. The kitchen facilities are handy and there’s a good selection of cafés within easy walking distance, plus the pub, Tinaburra lake and Our Place restaurant.
