“Beautiful lake view at a great deal!”

The view and location in the old town make this place special. You can’t find such a lovely lake view at such a low price in Udaipur, and the spot is within walking distance of the city palace, the bazaar, and Lake Pichola is just outside the property. Service was slow.

“AVOID AVOID AVOID”

The location was fine when we found it. The stay was a disaster from start to finish. We booked through an intermediary agent in India between the property owner and us. We booked for three days, and a day after booking we began receiving aggressive WhatsApp messages saying the place was fully booked and that we needed to be transferred. The messages demanded prepayment to Indian bank accounts, which felt very dodgy and suspicious, and they wanted us to ask our taxi driver to transfer the money. When we arrived, the rooms were more than 1 km away from the location shown on the map, there were no signs for the property, and when we finally found it the rooms were dirty and shabby, with no toilet paper, a cooking smell from the owner’s kitchen nearby, the owner’s dog, and children running around outside our rooms. We checked out the next morning after paying in full, and then we received more aggressive and threatening messages from the intermediary agent demanding to know how much we had paid the owner and threatening us with the police without confirming our payment.

“Beautiful lake view”

The views were good and the BnB was lovely; the lake view was great, breakfast was wholesome, and parking is close by. Service should be faster.
