“Immersi in un luogo incontaminato”
Coco Komba is a small eco‑lodge run by Patrick and Naik, two wonderful people with whom you immediately feel at home, treated not as tourists but as family members; the human connections are priceless, and the warmth you feel there is a real bonus. Everything, from the bungalows to the surroundings, was built with respect for the ecosystem, with a strong focus on recycling and low‑impact products. It may not have the comforts of a five‑star resort, but the chance to immerse yourself in an untouched place is priceless: forest noises, distant village songs, and regular visits from groups of lemurs in the gardens—all unforgettable experiences. The food prepared by Mrs Naik was excellent, a well‑balanced mix of French cuisine and local flavors. The transfer arrangements and the excursions organized by Patrick were flawless, making the stay truly enjoyable. Highly recommended!
“Je recommande +++”
Rien
The food was great and the location was spot on.
“Beautiful lodge ruined by host behavior toward us.”
The bungalows and the property are beautiful, and hosts Patrick and Naik have created gorgeous bungalows with great attention to detail. However, they were unclear about how meals worked; the website says there is a restaurant, but in practice you eat what they prepare at the times they say, and the price was high for our vegetarian food. Naik and Patrick yelled at my twin daughters and then at me over a misunderstanding about meals—even though we had paid for them. They insisted we should have told them if we weren’t going to have dinner, but our review of their website, our email communication, and the information they have on site does not support this. Three of us fell ill that evening and didn’t want to eat dinner, but because we hadn’t informed them, Naik and Patrick were very angry, and that anger carried over into the next morning when I received a harsh reprimand. It was incredibly stressful, caused my daughter to cry at the table, and ruined our stay. I have never had a business owner treat me this way. We also couldn’t find anything other than the scheduled meals at the lodge; there were no snacks for purchase, and nothing in the villages to buy. On day 3, when we were sick, we tried to buy a soft drink from Patrick, but it took several attempts and we only got a single small one to share. The hosts run a tight ship with many rules and seemed to care little about comfort. Additionally, during our 72‑hour stay at Coco Komba, the Wi‑Fi never worked. What was supposed to be the highlight of our Madagascar trip turned into the worst part because of the confusion over meals and the hosts’ unacceptable anger.
“Extraordinaire”
An unforgettable stay at Coco Komba Lodge. Naïk is a deeply warm and caring host, and Patrick, her partner, although absent during our visit, was still present through Naik’s tender and affectionate words. You feel how integral he is to the place’s spirit. The meals were excellent, the environment pleasant, relaxing, and refreshing. A genuine spot where you feel good and leave fully satisfied. Thank you for everything, Naik; best wishes for the future. Seb, Aurore, and the kids 💕
