Ahkula House, in Lemmenjoki, offers lake views from its terrace. This self-catering home features a kitchen, living room with flat-screen TV and fireplace, sauna, and barbecue. Guests enjoy hiking, fishing, and kayaking in the nearby Lemmenjoki National Park. Reindeer farm visits and boat excursions are available. Ivalo Airport is 90 km away, and Inari town's shops are 35 km away.

We were the only guests on the property, while other cabins are a bit farther away. The house is spacious, clean, and the limestone stove keeps it pleasantly warm; plenty of wood is supplied. On arrival we were greeted personally and given a thorough walk‑through of the house. The location and proximity to Lemmenjoki NP are also great. Nothing to complain about.

The house was dreamy; we had everything we needed and a speckled stone oven. Wonderful. A large bathroom and a great sauna. The rooms were bright, spacious, clean, and cozy. The equipment matched the description, everything was present. The host was incredibly friendly, very hospitable and attentive. 🤩 We were allowed to feed and pet his reindeer. The nearby National Park invites walks. We hiked on the frozen lake behind the house and tried ice fishing. We’ll definitely come back! 🤩

A beautiful house with everything you need to spend a few days cut off from civilization (if that’s what you want; it’s actually just a half‑hour from Inari), surrounded by nature, only 10 km from Lemmenjoki Park. In winter you practically have the lake to yourself and can enjoy the Northern Lights intimately. The host’s treatment is excellent, always available and making the stay even better with his attentions. For aurora lovers, this is an excellent spot. It’s our second visit to Ahkula House and it’s likely not the last.

A big house that has everything you need. A nice owner who let us meet his lovely reindeer. You can see beautiful birds and squirrels around the house, which is nice and quiet. When visible you have a perfect spot at the lake to see the aurora. Beautiful national parks are close by.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is super equipped, sits right on a lake, and the host is simply great. From the friendly reception, to feeding the reindeers, to ice fishing, he made the trip unforgettable. Thank you, dear Oula, for everything… We’d come back anytime. The next shop is in Inari, about 30 min by car. Pack well in advance and enjoy the quiet and surroundings.
