“Hot tub stay in beautiful location”

We stayed in Wren. A key code is sent to you for hassle‑free entry. The lodge is small and compact and has ‘Most’ things that you need for a great stay. The hot tub is fabulous and you have nice privacy from other lodges to enjoy it. Great decking area to sit out on with table and chairs, good for food and drink outside. It has 2 nice chairs inside. Beautiful location, there is a great pub nearby (Cross Keys) that serves lovely home‑cooked food. The heater is small but really packs a punch to warm the place up. It was very clean and has plenty of sockets. We were really impressed with the lovely gift at the entry of Prosecco, shortbread and crisps—really nice welcoming touch. It was advertised with a hob and oven but ours just had microwave, kettle and toaster. For me a ‘Good’ mattress is a must for a decent night’s sleep. It has what I consider to be an older ‘Spring’ mattress which I really struggle with and I didn’t sleep great both nights we stayed unfortunately. I don’t think it would be too expensive to provide a mattress upgrade; for me it would make a huge difference. Check‑in time is 4 pm??? Surely this could be lowered to 2 pm? Check‑out is 10 am, in my opinion 11 am would have been much nicer.

A quiet spot with a friendly dog, but the BBQ didn’t work because no gas can was supplied; we called the number provided for help, yet no one returned our call. We had to bring our own food to cook. The hot‑tube chemicals were excessive, leaving my skin itchy for days even though I showered before and after use.

“Very disappointed and gutted. Spoiled are weekend away.”

They gave us a bottle of wine, crisps, and shortbread on arrival, but the hot‑tub was unusable and filthy, covered in green scum and cobwebs, clearly uncleaned. Dog hair covered the decking, even though the listing said no dogs were allowed, and I asked for it to be cleaned again.

“Warm, cozy and peaceful, perfect couple get away!”

Everything was fantastic—quiet, peaceful, and cozy. The lodge had all the essentials and was warm and ready when we arrived. We stayed in Wren! It offered an oven and stove‑top on some listings, but actually had a microwave/grill, air fryer, and microwave pans in the cupboard—no stove‑top or oven. They also gifted us a bottle of Prosecco, crisps, and biscuits, a lovely touch. The visiting dog was a highlight. The only issue was a shelf behind the bed that hadn’t been cleaned; it had long black hairs and dust, but everything else was spotless.

The rural setting was clean and tidy, and everything we needed was there. No complaints.
