Sathkara River - Weligama

The place is a charm, super quiet, a little out of the way but easy to reach, and the beach is just a 3‑minute walk away. The beds are very clean, the showers and bathrooms are just as tidy, and the staff are extremely kind and attentive. I recommend it. Nothing to complain about, everything is perfect.

So much space, clean, nice beds, a big bathroom, kitchen, washing machine, and a lovely outdoor area! Honestly, everything is just perfect. Amazing value for that price.

“Amazing place, great for making memories(and dinner!)”

This was honestly one of the nicest cheap stays we've found in the country across all our trips over the years. We stayed in the villa option and it exceeded our expectations. The kitchen and living area turned the room into a very chill‑able and cozy space for those nights we didn't want to head into town. The staff were amazing as well; we bonded with Hasitha, who helped us out by offering to drop us off sometimes when we were on our way out and was extremely attentive. Asked for an ash tray? Boom! Ash tray. Needed an extra chopping knife? Boom, Hasitha hooked us up. You will feel very well looked after here, without that intrusive feeling that sometimes comes, but that was never the case here. There were adorable cats whose love you will have to fight for. Very much recommend! Everything was perfect, but in my heart of hearts what could have pushed it to the next level would have been some cute little night lighting ambience in the common areas and maybe some garden sit‑out comfy situations. (There is still some great chillable common area with vibes though!)

Nice by the river, very quiet. Pleasant with the sleeping capsules. We had an evening with no water to shower and the bathroom had almost no light. Besides me, there were only two other guests, and because it’s a bit remote (I had trouble finding the hostel), I find it a little creepy as a woman.
