I was told my reservation at Rocks Hotel was cancelled because of a no‑show, even though I was stuck in a typhoon and had no internet while traveling across continents. The staff offered no help or alternatives, which was absolutely ridiculous. Never book at Rocks Hotel again.

The hotel has a strong Portuguese vibe, with spacious rooms that blend modern comfort with historic décor. Everything was thoughtfully arranged; during a typhoon the staff brought furniture in from the balcony in the evening and added wooden blinds facing the bay. The Portuguese restaurant earned rave reviews—both à la carte dinner and the breakfast buffet were delicious. The staff were extremely friendly, even helping us book a taxi when the app was overloaded. If you want a slice of Europe in Southeast Asia, I’d recommend it 100%! We chose a location in the old town, which turned out to be perfect—quiet compared with many downtown hotels squeezed between buildings, and we weren’t interested in casino hotels anyway.

The design team was friendly, the breakfasts were cool, and the restaurant inside the hotel was nice. Nothing else bothered me.
