We absolutely loved our stay! The rustic vibe was paired with a very clean and comfortable environment, a great spot, tasty breakfast, and solid Wi‑Fi.

“Little run-down but nice enough”

We like eco lodges and stayed in several in Central America, but couldn't help being a bit disappointed with this one. I'm sure it was a very nice place once but it is a little run-down and somber. We saw the personal doing works on other cabins, and restoring the roofs, let's hope they move on restoring interiors too. we got a last minute promotion about 30USD a night so it was OK. I don't think it is worth the full price, though That said, we enjoyed our time here, the forest is really nice and we always had a lot of butterflies in our garden. The location in the island is also great with 2 minimarkets, restaurants and motorcycle rental nearby. And breakfast was delicious and includes fruit. Half the bulbs are broken (noticed by the personal but no intention to change).Water heater was "temporarily" broken (weather not as hot as Leon or Granada , so a little suffering in there :). Cleaning is made only in the main parts, the corners are full of dust To be fair spiders are really fast doing webs, still the dust accumulates. Run-down interior. Do not choose your room based on lake-view or mountain-view, you'll have none, the rooms are surrounded with forest, which is nice anyway. With luck and good weather you may be able to see the tip of the Vulcano

“Good location to access best of Ometepe but needs serious maintenance.”

The location was convenient, close to everything you need in Balgue, and the gardens and outdoor seating were nice, but the property looked poorly maintained compared to online photos. A few wasp nests had to be cleared right outside the front door. General upkeep was lacking and the roof leaked during rain.

“Il faut aimer la nature et le retour au naturel.”

The reception and staff were adorable, and the room offered a lovely view of nature. The rooms need a refresh; there were too many scorpions in the bedroom and bathroom, and the toilets are composting, which might not suit everyone. From 5 am to 8:15 am one morning, a constant beep after a power outage tested our nerves.

“Schöne Anlage mitten in der Natur”

The site is very beautiful and spacious, with the bungalows spread far apart, set right in nature among animals like howler monkeys, cockroaches, spiders, toads, butterflies and many birds; thanks to the surrounding ventilation I didn’t miss an air‑conditioner, and breakfast with other guests was fine. It is a little outside the village, with three places to eat and a supermarket a 10‑minute walk away, and a fridge would be nice since there are no cold drinks on the premises during the day or evening.
