We were told at booking that we’d get a ground‑floor room, which we liked, but then we were informed we’d have to be upstairs. We had already moved from another accommodation because of unforeseen circumstances, so that was unsuitable, and we ended up checking in and out again within a few hours. The location was in the back blocks, surrounded by many little gangs and alleyways, and we would never have found it again at night. The photos made it look like there was a balcony, but there isn’t; we had to walk up three flights of concrete stairs to reach the room, which was difficult with leg problems. There were only two sun loungers around a tiny pool, and getting up and down the stairs was hard. There was no electric kettle; instead, there was an old‑fashioned gas kettle with a gas bottle under the cupboard, which seemed unsafe. We didn’t even stay, and we didn’t get a refund because it was non‑refundable. We wanted to enjoy the rest of our trip, and this place definitely wasn’t suitable.

The rooms were large and spacious, each with a washing machine. The pool was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Nothing negative.

“Not what we expected”

The staff were great and the pool was nice. The apartment wasn’t well maintained: one stove burner didn’t work, the ceiling fan only had one speed, the toilet sometimes wouldn’t fill the tank and other times kept filling, so we had to turn off the water or open the back and unstick the fill valve. The air conditioner leaked down the wall and left a small puddle on the floor. The remotes for the TV and electronics didn’t work, so I had to buy batteries to watch TV. The listing claimed a toaster oven, but it was just a toaster. The listing said the beach was a five‑minute walk away, which was impossible; it actually took about 15 minutes walking fast. They told us we’d get a key for each of us, but we only received one key for the front door and one for the bathroom. One light switch was broken, and several lights in the room didn’t work or were missing bulbs. We had a tiny ant infestation and killed one scorpion and one very large roach‑like creature.
