“2 short a stay need 2 stay longer n b prepared”
I paid just over £200 for a room, and the breakfast, which cost £19, fell short of what I expected: the steak was missing, the links were too small, mushrooms were too big, black pudding and egg were okay, haggis was not ideal, and the scone was just fine. The full breakfast felt excessive for the price and the quality was disappointing, but everything else was fine. On a Thursday night, as a solo traveller, I had no choice but to pay for a room or risk sleeping on a bench, especially since I wasn’t prepaid for that night and couldn’t get a bus to Edinburgh to book back in Glasgow. It was a shock, and I couldn’t book earlier because of WiFi issues on the train and poor signal—Scotrail really needs to fix this. Despite that, I enjoyed the stay and the host was very good. The only real downside was the breakfast quality; the bed was too soft for a good night’s sleep, and the shower was good but lacked privacy if more than one person stayed in the room.
