“Don't stay”

The bed was comfy and the shower was very hot and clean. The front door was temperamental with the code – it said wrong twice when I typed it in. The house was freezing cold and had no central heating. There was nothing to cook or eat – no cooking equipment, no cutlery, no plates, and the oven was disgusting. The room was very basic, no TV, and the bedroom doors need replacing. The cleaner did an okay job. I found many other places that were nicer for the same price, so I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it.

I became an automatic unemployed receptionist at this property. Different people manage it, and sometimes guests are unlucky enough to pay the previous management; when they try to reach out, they are told they paid the wrong person. This is a scam. There was no washing-up liquid in the kitchen. I wrote to them and was ignored.

On my first day at this place I had to clean the dirty room myself, mop the floors, and clean the filthy toilet. It was as dirty as hell. I wrote to the host asking for a broom and a mop, but there was no response to date. I supplied toilet tissues for the other guests that were arriving.

“Unfortunately couldn’t ever go back to it”

The room was large. The heating was absent for my entire stay, leaving me absolutely freezing every day and night; I asked for it twice and was told it was on a timer, but it never turned on. The house was very dirty, full of damp.

“Awful experience, and never want to experience this again. Hence why I abandoned the property and went to stay elsewhere”

There was absolutely nothing good about this stay, the worst I have ever had. I left the property because the person in charge was rude and condescending on the phone and in WhatsApp messages, unhelpful, and didn’t care even after I followed his request to send my ID (driving licence sent). The property was in a bad location, a rough neighbourhood, and it was difficult to access because the PIN numbers for both the main door and my booked room were confusing when eventually sent, causing stress and anxiety. The property was filthy, unkept, and actually made me sick. There were insects crawling, floors so dirty, mould in my room. I can’t believe how dirty the house is in 2025 and is allowed to be rented out to people. I will report this to trading standards and I think my money, although non-refundable, should be returned to me. The experience was the most awful. The other two guests staying were not happy either; one of them said he would write a complaint or give negative feedback too.
