“Not very good for the price”
The location was good, but the 3rd‑floor suite lacked fresh towels after day one, had no bottled water in the room after day one, and the furniture was very uncomfortable.

The lobby area was beautiful and the location was great, but our room was only okay; the air conditioner leaked water and someone was sent to fix it, the towels were old and rough, parts of the ceiling were stained, and plaster was missing.

The place looked great, the bed was super comfy, and the location was excellent; I especially enjoyed the TV room, the bedroom with the jacuzzi, the music on the downstairs speakers, and the balcony overlooking the street. However, there was a gross‑looking mystery stain on our shower curtain, we ran out of toilet paper because there isn’t regular maid service or a desk person downstairs, the ceiling cords were hanging open and uncovered, and the A/C unit was so loud that it woke me when it turned off and again when it started, leaving me with very little sleep.

If you’re a history buff, this hotel is a must‑visit; built in the 1860s, staying here feels like an event with winding staircases, tall ceilings, original doors and windows that are creepy and crooked, and you can’t help but wonder what life has been like for this hotel and all its guests over the years. Don’t come if you expect ultra‑comfort, perfection, code‑compliant stairs, or level floors—this isn’t it.

I love old historic hotels and this one didn’t disappoint; it’s a little rough around the edges but still in pretty good shape for its age. The A/C in our room worked well and the ceiling fans were a nice touch. There are a lot of small maintenance details that could be handled with a bit of paint here and a little attention there.
