The staff were really lovely, and the tuktuk to the old town only took 5 minutes. I appreciated that it’s a local family‑run business. We were hoping to meet other backpackers in a social setting, but that didn’t happen.

“Excelente ubicación y atención en Mombasa”

Excellent location. The owner and staff were very, very friendly. The room matched the photo, but there was no view or window. During my stay the Wi‑Fi didn’t work, only coming back when I left. The place is basic; it’s just a room and a bathroom. There’s no kitchen, no kettle, no common area—just the room. There is a restaurant downstairs where I could hang out.

“Decent stay but weak shower.”

The area is good and easy to reach, and the staff are friendly. The shower pressure was too weak.

Leonard, the host is spectacular: kind, welcoming, and helpful, making you feel at home. Don’t be fooled by the slightly rough road that leads to the place and the barely visible sign; the hostel is in a good spot and we always felt safe. The building is a bit dated, especially the bathroom, but the room is very spacious and clean, with window screens. If I ever go back to Mombasa, I’d stay here again.

“The owner is so kind and so helpful”

A fantastic hostel that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay.
