Syama Suite Sukhumvit 20

“Good Value Modest Hotel in Convenient Location”

Convenient hotel at a good price and close to most attractions – I've stayed here a few times. The rooms are spacious, which is nice, and although they look modern, it's clear they need an update and refresh; light switches are in odd places.

The location is great and the rooms are large, but there is noisy construction work nearby.

“Buon hotel in ottima posizione”

Good location and cleanliness, but the multimedia system, lighting, and air conditioning are problematic.

“I was duped by the pictures. I left after 15 minutes.”

Not much to say positively. The hotel gives the impression that the suite is fantastic, but my suite had no windows, smelled, the bathroom was filthy, and there were bugs. The location is next to several erotic massage parlors. The staff were not very polite or professional, and I felt like a nuisance. If you look up the hotel on Google Maps, the picture of its location gives a wrong impression. Too bad I paid for the whole stay with no refund option.

“Standard not matching the price.”

Helpful staff and a comfortable bed, but construction every day, even on weekends from 8 am until 9‑10 pm. The hotel did not inform me about the construction, and the site with workers is just outside the room windows, so I had to close the curtains for privacy. There are many lady bars around; no one bothered me, but I don’t want to live in that area. Taxis couldn’t find the hotel, so I had to walk out to meet them. The room interior was okay; at one point it felt very modern, but now most things are broken. The standard does not match the price.
