“The most fabulous stay - start to finish.”
We loved everything, especially the exquisite finishes. It’s definitely one of the best boutique hotels we’ve ever stayed in. All the staff were so attentive and competent and couldn’t have been more helpful. Our room had everything we wanted and so much thought had gone into the layout and lighting. The decor was contemporary and no expense had been spared although the electric toilet was beyond bizarre and not an experience I wish to repeat! The grounds and gardens were immaculate and we could not fault anything at all. We dined outside in the Old Distillery which, like the hotel, had been renovated to an incredibly high standard and the food and wines were absolutely delicious. Breakfast was also delicious with everything we could wish for served by a very efficient and personable waitress. Nothing at all except for the door handles which were the opposite of tactile.
Everything. Absolutely one of the best HDG hotels. The brasserie was average.
“Disappointing”
The lobby and library look great, but the staff feel undertrained—most don't smile or greet you when you enter, and there's no friendly hello or thank‑you when you leave. It comes across as a bit backward, far from the Relais & Châteaux level of service.

Harmony and rare refinement in this elegant estate with warm privacy, surrounded by a vast park. Water features, remarkable trees. Especially comfortable. Charming staff.

We had to change our plans and they were very understanding and helped us out. Greatly appreciated.
