The chalet offered great value, affordable rates, a good breakfast, a large clean room with a chilly air‑cond, comfortable beds, a quiet atmosphere and not too many people around, plus its own jetty and very helpful staff; even though we stayed in a garden‑view room, the beach was only a few steps away, with a dim evening vibe, plenty of trees and plenty of chairs and benches, and the shallow shore was perfect for little kids to splash. The furniture feels a bit worn, the door lacks an interior safety lock (only the main key works), we had to bring our own cloth hanger and wish there were an outdoor rack for drying wet clothes, and it would be nice to have a water filter for easy hot and cold water refills.
The big room is close to the beach—just a few steps away—and there are plenty of chairs and benches. The beach is calm. There’s no outdoor clothesline for wet clothes.

Before booking, remember that you’re going to a paradise island next to a jungle, and it’s not a luxury hotel. The shared facilities were excellent—tanning beds, a volleyball net, and the beach is swept clean every week. Breakfast was very good and varied, always Asian‑style but with toast, pancakes and fruit for those who aren’t used to it. Of all the hotels I’ve stayed in Malaysia, this had the best breakfast for me. The beach is quiet yet has restaurants, so if you want a completely empty beach you’ll need to look elsewhere. I saw a lot of locals and the cultural exchange was what I liked most. I had read about litter from other reviews, so I expected a European‑style beach, but they actually kept it tidy and the locals were involved. All businesses are run by Malaysian family companies, very dedicated, and they also offer tours and taxi services. Bring cash, even though many accept cards; the best prices were for cash. I booked a room without air‑conditioning, so I expected ventilation to be a problem with mosquitoes, but it worked out fine. The price is about 35 € per night, which is economical compared to other Perhentian island rooms. If you want luxury and more amenities, look elsewhere. First and foremost, there was no hot water. Luckily the water was naturally lukewarm and I assume it stays that way year‑round, which surprised me because I use it a lot. It wasn’t cold. On the second night an animal entered the room through a bathroom vent. Despite everything, the reception staff answered at 1 am and gave us a new room. It would be good to have a reception phone number for emergencies and to seal any holes to avoid such scares. As I mentioned earlier, you need to know where you’re staying: the beach is known for its flora and fauna, so mosquitoes, snakes, rats, frogs are all possible. In my case, an animal was searching for trash because it smelled an empty chocolate wrapper we had left, which we didn’t expect in a place where locals didn’t warn us. In conclusion, if you want luxury and full comfort, you’ll have to pay more elsewhere. This place met its goal and was relaxing, but there’s a higher chance of incidents like the one I described.
“Stesi soldi si trova di meglio!!!partendo dalla struttura al mare”
With the same money you can find a much better place! The rooms, bathroom, breakfast, and even the restaurant service need improvement because they bring dishes one by one. While one person has finished eating, another hasn’t even received the first dish yet.

The complex isn’t great. The bungalow has no air‑conditioning.
