Pension Haus Wernemann, a house in Bad Rothenfelde, sits 500 m from the town centre and 700 m from the spa gardens. Rooms feature flat‑screen TVs, work desks, and private bathrooms. Buffet breakfast is served in a restaurant overlooking the garden. The Teutoberg Forest setting invites hiking, cycling, and access to Osnabrück. The guesthouse sits in a peaceful setting near an impressive forest and the city centre, and you can spot wild rabbits playing around the parking lot at dusk or dawn. It has a serene vibe and is affordable. I visited in early October and felt the nights were quite cold, and the rooms are fairly small.

Everything was in perfect order, clean, close to the centre, friendly and welcoming. The manager came in the middle of the night to make a handful of very noisy guests understand that their behaviour was not allowed—class!

The house is very centrally located, tucked in a quiet cul‑de‑sac, and a short walk brings you right into the action. I really liked the tasty breakfast; everything was there and I was completely satisfied. What pleasantly surprised me was the tea kitchen with a coffee machine, air fryer, kettle, cutlery, etc. The staff are very friendly and always smile. The room has everything you need and the bed was very cozy. Unfortunately, the heating is turned down significantly at night. It wasn’t explicitly cold in the room, I just get cold quickly.

The breakfast area is clearly laid out, with a cozy atmosphere; I take my time, which is the beauty of such a continuous buffet—delicious pastries, coffee, nicely arranged tables, I feel really comfortable. Beautiful view with a small garden, nicely landscaped, and the people are friendly. The room is also good, with great beds. The only downside is occasional noise; I personally don’t mind it if it’s a distant monotone sound, like someone using a chainsaw far away that puts me to sleep. Other sounds can keep you awake, like someone speaking loudly or a TV playing at high volume; it could be that the person is a bit deaf, which can happen. I don’t mind it much; eventually, you fall asleep a bit later, but otherwise I’m more than satisfied.
