A gentleman at the front desk had a very good attitude and actively solved the issue with the disinfectant smell in the room and the TV that wouldn’t work; the location was convenient. However, it was my first time staying at a place with cockroaches… while waiting for staff to clean, the front desk called me to remind me to check out… I was telling them I was dealing with the roaches, otherwise what would the housekeeping come for?

Staying in a hotel tucked into the old district of Hsinchu gave me a strong sense of nostalgia as I wandered the surrounding streets. The property itself felt dated; although the bathroom was tidy, I couldn’t bring myself to use the bathtub, and the price didn’t feel like a good deal.
