A relaxing fishing holiday on the river. The house is as described, in a lovely spot on the Scharza. We appreciated the communication with the host, the cleanliness was excellent, the host was always available and took care of everything—thanks for the great stay. We’ll be back next year. The location was lovely and the manager was friendly, but the furniture was dated and the coffee machine was broken.

The spot sits right in the center of lower Schwarzburg, so walking to the surrounding hills is quick; getting there from the station is a bit of a hassle with luggage if you don’t have a car, but the fresh air and running water make it worthwhile. At 5 p.m. most local shops shut, leaving no food options, and a microwave would help for quick meals.
