I booked a private apartment that was 95 % empty that night; many were unfinished or unsold, looking dusty and dirty from my balcony, so the standards were unclear. I arrived at 3 pm (check‑in was 2 pm) and was told the apartment wouldn’t be ready until 6 pm and that the owner would return. At 6 pm the man (not the owner) came back, claimed a different apartment, demanded an extra $10, and said the booking was already paid. The new apartment had a borderline cat‑pee smell, suggesting the plaster was still wet when painted. It was self‑catering but only had two knives, two plates, no matching dishes, no bedside light or switch, no Wi‑Fi (he promised to bring it later), no towels, no welcome pack, no tea bag, no coffee, no sugar, and not even a water bottle. The washing was hanging on the balcony, which was dirty. Overall, the standard was poor and everything seemed cheap, done just to make money without real care for guests. The resort itself had good outdoor areas, nice pools, and a private beach, but no on‑site facilities like a shop or café, though there were some nearby.
