The hosts Anna and Frederico were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the spot is unbeatable—just a stone's throw from Ipanema beach and the metro, with cafés and bars right on the block. Everything we wanted was within walking distance, so we barely left the building. The only thing that could use a tweak is more frequent cleaning for longer stays, but otherwise we loved it.

The room was spotless and the neighborhood is gorgeous—right across from Ipanema Square and just a few blocks from the beach. Ana is a sweetheart, always on hand, lets you wash clothes and use the fridge, and I loved that she let me use the kitchen. The kitten Frederico is absolutely adorable. I’d recommend this place 100%.

Staying at Ana’s apartment felt like stepping into a magical slice of history—full of surprises and charm. From the moment we arrived, even with a late booking, Ana welcomed us with patience and warmth, and the place was immaculately clean, spacious, and super comfy. The bathroom tiles were a highlight, and the cat Frederico—named after the feline—was sweet and social, even jokingly called a jealous husband.

The location was great, but there were a few hiccups. One night the hot water stopped working because of a leak on another floor, and the TV had no internet so we couldn’t stream anything. The host was friendly, but we hardly ever ran into her. Overall, a decent spot with a few minor annoyances.

I arrived expecting to meet Frederico, but instead met his mom—Ana, a fantastic lady who welcomed me with a hug and showed me around the building and even took me to lunch. It felt like staying in a grandma’s house full of love and comfort, and the beach is just two blocks away. Fred, the adorable cat, is the cutest I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend this place—no complaints at all.
