I was surprised to learn that Silk Island isn’t the tourist trap it’s often portrayed as; a few hard‑sell vendors at the ferry landings can be brushed off politely, and the majority of weavers work as contract laborers for the silk farms, so they have little silk to sell—though they do offer cotton items you can buy to thank them for a free visit. Walking the roads, you’ll find many weavers across the two islands. The second highlight was Kroma Villa, run by Do and Robert, whose hospitality was beyond expectations. The rooms were super clean and comfortable, the food excellent (no pressure to dine there), and breakfast was included. For Cambodians or tourists passing through Phnom Penh, this place is a great escape from the city’s bustle. I strongly recommend staying one or more nights to unwind and explore the islands.
