Grand Hotel Bernardin

“Won’t go back.”

The location was fine. The AC didn’t work, the bathroom radiator didn’t work, one of the shower towels had holes, the gym fitness center was very substandard, there was a horrible smell on one floor, and the hallways badly needed paint and a refresh.

“Great service and we want to be back!”

Amazing beachfront property with access to kids pool. Free valet parking for our car whereas other hotels charge €24 per day. Improvements: provide free shuttle to Piran. Lack of changing facilities at level 0 near the beach. Staff at the Spa were not as welcoming as others in the Hotel

“Sehr schön, bis auf die Schirm-Geschichte...”

The breakfast buffet was extensive and varied. Being between Portoroz and Piran is perfect for walks, and the sea view is a dream. The staff were friendly. Unfortunately, most of the beach chairs and all the umbrellas were already taken because it was off‑season. When I asked for an extra umbrella or chair, there was none available – next time we’ll bring our own.

The location is great and the breakfast is very good. However, last‑minute party announcements made the place very loud and only a little relaxing. The hotel claims 5 stars, so I expected a bit more friendliness. The building feels a little old, the curtains in the breakfast room are broken, and the wardrobe doors stick.

I felt like a queen and slept wonderfully.
