A guesthouse that truly impressed me with its outstanding staff, stunning rooms, and top‑class facilities; every detail was flawless from arrival to departure, and I’ll definitely return again and again!

The venue sits in a lovely spot in Durbanville, making it very central. On the downside: 1. The aircon is noisy and doesn’t heat the large room well. 2. The bathrooms are freezing because they’re all tiled with no underfloor heating. 3. As a solo woman, I’m uneasy that the door can be opened from outside with a key and lacks an inside safety latch. 4. A wine bottle opener would be handy in the drawer. 5. Feather pillows would greatly improve sleep quality. 6. Light pours in through the glass strip and shines straight into the room from the patio.

From the moment I checked in at Evertsdal, I felt right at home; the welcome was warm and the sense of being valued as a solo Australian traveler stayed constant. My room was very comfortable, the bed firm, furnishings in good condition, and the room and ensuite were spotless daily. There was ample hanging and cupboard space. My car was parked inside the gated guesthouse, and the surrounding suburb felt safe. I took a 10‑minute walk to the local supermarket one afternoon and felt at ease doing so. The bathroom had standard amenities, and towels were changed on request; a face cloth would have been nice, but it’s a minor detail. I’m sure if I’d asked, they’d have provided it without hesitation. Breakfast and service were excellent, with the same staff present most days. Three types of loaves (both savory and sweet) were baked on the premises daily, making it hard to choose. The usual cereals and yogurts were offered, and fruit varied each day. A cooked breakfast was available, or variations thereof. Coffee was always plentiful, and both almond and oat milk were offered. I had two home‑cooked dinners, each delicious with main course, dessert, and juice. Would I stay there again? Absolutely. Thank you for a wonderful 9‑day stay, Yolande and team. Margi
