Hakuba Powder Lodge

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the accommodation provided all the essentials for the price we paid. The location was convenient, only a 10-minute walk from some great restaurants. It also had a dedicated dry room, which was perfect for storing snowboard and ski gear. The Wi-Fi was fast as well, which was a nice bonus for watching movies in the room. Everything felt very communal, which at times made the property feel more like a hostel than a hotel. This wasn’t clearly communicated in the listing. There also didn’t seem to be enough showers for the number of guests, and the toilets were not always kept as clean as expected. The shared fridge system was confusing and poorly managed, with other guests placing their items on our allocated shelf

The nicest people, starting with the owners, as well as the guests. Very free‑spirited, kind and funny place.

The owners are very friendly and helpful. There is a family atmosphere. There is a commercial kitchen to cook whatever you feel like. The location is pretty good. Everything was clean and worked. Free tea and coffee. They have a good system for storing your own food. Very warm and cosy. Ski resorts don’t run a shuttle to the lodge.

Nice common kitchen with refrigerator. Nice fireplaces in the common lounge areas. Nice heated basement room for ski gear and there is a complete workspace there with tools for binding adjustments and snowboard waxing. The room is small and there is no table.
