“Bathroom horrible - rest OK. Don't stay longer than a night.”
The room was relatively comfortable, with wardrobe space, an iron, a small desk and TV – it does the job for a short stay. Kitchen facilities were as expected. For £86 per night, I couldn’t find anything cheaper and didn’t expect much. If the shower wasn’t such an issue, I could have let the rest go quite easily. Bathroom & shower – overall simply not very clean at all. Shower drain blocked. One towel provided for a 3‑night stay. An extra towel would have been nice as the single towel provided was not great to use after 3 or 4 showers. On the subject of showers, the drain in my room was blocked and would bring hair and debris into the shower floor. Showers had to be very quick to avoid flooding the bathroom. The smell of the drain was horrific. Toilet and sink were of mediocre cleanliness – not horrible but certainly could’ve been better. Noise – a door from another room banged constantly. Not people coming and going but there was clearly a window open in an empty room just pushing the door. A small complaint but after 3 days it drove me mad. No heating facilities – for a summer or spring stay probably fine, but I absolutely would not even think about staying here in the colder months. The blind also did not properly cover the window so I would recommend a sleep mask. Whatsapp number provided – difficult to get a response, when you do, staff are not particularly professional. Safety – having lived in Portsmouth before, I was not surprised at the location. It is an HMO on a street in a not‑so‑nice part of Portsmouth. I wouldn’t say the location was unsafe, but the combination lock boxes on the front door and the room do feel a little dicey. I came back a few times with the front door combination having been left in the correct position – anyone could have got the key and unlocked the door. Rooms remain lockable but I certainly wouldn’t be leaving any valuables in the room. I also opened the door to two guests standing at the front door attempting to get in – I saw they had been texted the wrong code and then couldn’t get hold of anyone through the number provided. Worth considering.
Had a great stay. The self check-in and check-out process was very easy and convenient. Communication was excellent throughout, and the place was clean and well maintained. Overall, a smooth and comfortable experience. Would happily stay again!
Just really impressed 💯. No comment
