“quiet and quaint”
I really enjoyed my stay at the Old Ham Tree; it’s a charming rural spot in a lovely village that I wish I’d had more time to explore. The location was ideal for a relaxing overnight, and the beer garden was a definite highlight. My room was well-equipped, and I especially liked the self‑service kitchenette. Everything felt easy and relaxed, from the straightforward check‑in and check‑out to the friendly staff and welcoming locals. The room sat near the main road and the garden, so I expected noise, but it was surprisingly peaceful. The shared bathroom, with two toilets for three rooms, was conveniently close. For the price, the Old Ham Tree offered great value. I didn’t eat at the pub, but there were a range of options and smaller portions, which is rare and definitely a plus. Overall, I had a lovely night and would gladly recommend it to travelers seeking a relaxed, affordable, characterful stay. The only minor downside is that, while everything was clean, the rooms and communal areas are starting to look a bit tired and could use some updating.
