“A decent place for a night stay near the HBF”

“Overpriced run down hotel in sketchy area”

The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious for Europe (twin beds). The bathroom was renovated and nice, and the many windows helped with airflow since there was no air‑conditioner. I found a good laundromat about 10 minutes walk—Eco‑Express Laundry D5 on Schützenstraße—where I could pay by card or cash, which was handy on a long trip. No air‑conditioner in the room, so if you don’t want windows open at night (the street is noisy), ask for a fan on arrival—they loaned me one. I also had to borrow a kettle and iron because those aren’t standard. The area felt a bit sketchy; I’d stay further from the train station next time, but I didn’t know Düsseldorf at all when booking (the Aldstadt area was nicer in person). The hotel was very old, run‑down, and dirty in many areas, with bits of dumped furniture everywhere. It definitely needs a renovation and a deep clean everywhere, new carpets, etc. The two Chinese staff were polite enough; I think they were new to Düsseldorf since the lady couldn’t answer my questions about trains or a good local restaurant, saying she only knew Chinese food places. The male Chinese staff member was helpful but had to use Google Translate to communicate with me at times. I would give polite feedback that the staff should become more familiar with the local area to help visitors. The smoke detector battery died during the night and kept beeping, so I couldn’t sleep, and the reception is not 24 hr, so no one could help me until the staff read my emails around 10 AM. The male staff member was very apologetic and offered a discount on my first night’s stay for the inconvenience, which was unexpected and appreciated. Despite this, I will not stay here again.

I didn't have a good experience; the place was dirty and there were no staff present to speak to. The hotel was very filthy, with many broken spots, and no employees were on site to help.

“Katastrophal schlecht!”

Nix. Leider in jeder Hinsicht enttäuschend! Das Hotel hat eine sehr schlechte Lage an einer stark befahrenen und sehr lauten Straße. Außerdem gab es keine Lüftung außer über das Fenster. Das Zimmer war klein, die Ausstattung veraltet und insgesamt deutlich renovierungsbedürftig. Das gesamte Hotel wirkt ungepflegt, alt und stark abgenutzt. Auch der Service hat leider keinen guten Eindruck hinterlassen. Insgesamt hatten wir ständig das Gefühl, dass es an Sauberkeit und Pflege fehlt. Das Zimmer und das Hotel wirkten teilweise wie eine sehr günstige, heruntergekommene Unterkunft an einer Landstraße – definitiv nicht wie ein Hotel, für das man 276 € bezahlt. Leider hatten wir überhaupt nicht das Gefühl, dass das Zimmer wirklich sauber war. Der Boden im Zimmer war schmutzig, und auch das Badezimmer war nicht besonders sauber. Die Vorhänge waren dreckig, sehr alt und hatten mehrere Löcher. Auch die Ausstattung im Badezimmer war teilweise kaputt: Die Wasserhähne am Waschbecken und in der Dusche waren teilweise defekt bzw. stark beschädigt. Das Schloss im Badezimmer funktionierte ebenfalls nicht. Die Beleuchtung war sehr unpraktisch, da es nur Licht am Bett gab. Außerdem war das Zimmer insgesamt sehr stickig. Für einen Preis von 276 € ohne Frühstück ist das für mich absolut inakzeptabel. Insgesamt eine große Enttäuschung und definitiv kein angemessenes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis

The room was dirty and unkempt, and the heating was broken on arrival, making it extremely hot; the issue was fixed after I reported it, but it raises the question of why the cleaning crew didn't notice it beforehand.
