“Good value of money”
It sits in Mombasa’s city center and serves a great mushroom cream soup, though the staff could use more English.

The location is good, the room size and balcony were lovely, the tea and coffee station was adequate, and there was a mini fridge; however, the décor is dated, no pillow protectors were provided, the towels were old, and the two armchairs were very grubby.

Our room was spacious and clean, the covered balcony was excellent, the breakfast selection was large, the food was delicious, we were greeted with a refreshing drink, the staff were very friendly, and we felt very comfortable.

The place sits in a great spot and the breakfast was solid, plus the staff were lovely. We never used the pool, but it looked nice. The bar area was a bit noisy because two TVs were broadcasting different soccer matches, otherwise the space was pleasant.

Overall, the hotel was pretty good. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, and the toiletries in the bathroom were delicious. The TV played a USB drive, and there was free water, a kettle, a fridge, coffee and tea in the room. When I asked for extra dishes and towels, they were provided promptly. The outdoor pool had excellent lounge chairs and the hot water in the shower was great. In short, it’s an atmospheric, distinctive hotel that’s enjoyable to stay in. Nearby attractions include the “Bivni” monument, a large Naivas supermarket, fruit stalls, many cafés, and a bank—all within a 5–10 minute walk. The only issue was that I was first assigned a very dark room with windows facing the staircase. The next morning, after I requested a change, I was moved to a brighter, more spacious room. I won’t lower my rating because of that; the second room met my needs and I liked it.
