Central Tourist Park, located 2 km from Mackay town centre, features free Wi-Fi and an outdoor pool surrounded by tall palms. Accommodation includes self-contained villas and private rooms with patio or balcony, dining setting, lounge area, flat-screen TV, and private bathroom. The park is 5 minutes' drive from the Pioneer River and Bluewater Lagoon, 10 minutes' from Mackay Marina Village & Shipyard.

The location was handy, but waking up to a cockroach crawling on us both freaked me out—I screamed at the place. I hope they sort that out soon.

The cabin was centrally located for what we were in town for, spacious and tidy most of the time. Being older, it needs a little work, but nothing major; if you’re bringing four people you’ll need four of everything in the cupboards and drawers. The beds weren’t comfortable, so we didn’t think we’d stay longer. The overpowering bleach smell when we walked in was a bit much.

It was a very pleasant stay, and I had no complaints about the price.

Customer service was excellent; when our group’s arrival was delayed the staff were super accommodating and even adjusted the lights in our cabins.
